Welcome to Ross IT!

Hello,

Welcome to the 2025-2026 academic year!

On behalf of everyone in RossIT, I wish you success in your educational endeavors in the 2025-2026 academic year. Whether you are returning to campus or joining us for the first time, we are thrilled to support your learning, teaching, and research journey.

We’ve seen some changes here at RossIT over the past year:

  • Support Services now reside in K2511.
  • The application team moved to our new State Street location with our Executive Education team.

We’ve also said goodbye to a few retired members. Their service and dedication helped build RossIT into the department it is today. We will miss our friends, but we are excited about their futures.

  • Stacy Wade: After over 36 remarkable years, mainly within RossIT. Stacy has decided to move on to the next chapter of her life. Stacy’s deep knowledge and expertise helped steer Ross IT throughout her tenure. Her connections throughout the school have been instrumental in developing our procurement, asset tracking, and budget processes for RossIT.
  • Jermane White: Jermane had been a pillar of our Ross Application Development team for nearly 24 incredible years, handling all eCommerce and CyberSource-related work with expertise. Jermane has been a source of wisdom, positivity, and a philosophical outlook that has brightened our workplace. We will deeply miss his helpful nature and unwavering support..
  • Sheri Fillip: Sheri will retire on September 12 after an incredible 30+ years of dedicated service to RossIT and the university. Her unwavering commitment, vast knowledge, and exceptional skills contributed significantly to our team’s success and growth. Sheri supports her customers and team members, making her a valued supporter.
  • Cheryl Sobkow: After nine impactful years of service, our Director of Support Services will retire from RossIT. Since joining Ross, Cheryl has been instrumental in shaping the Support Services division. Under her leadership, the department has grown to include System Administrators, Desktop Support, Communications, and Security Operations — forming a cohesive, dependable team supporting the Ross Community with consistency, care, and excellence.

But even with these changes, we’ll continue providing the service you’ve come to expect. Here are some of our highlights:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI): Given the proliferation of AI tools and uses, RossIT will continue to offer resources around AI and how it will impact teaching, learning, and augment our daily jobs. Be on the lookout for additional AI discussions and workshops throughout the academic year.
  • Ross IT Assistance Button in Conference Rooms: We added the RossIT Assistance button, previously only available in classrooms, to all Ross conference rooms. This functionality allows customers to request support directly from the conference room.
  • Corner Commons (B1590): This update corrects the issues experienced by Mac users when displaying content and playing video in the room.
  • Ross Conferences Tool: The Ross Conferences Tool received a new user interface with a cleaner, modern layout. This update aligns the menu with the rest of the iMpact site. Other updates improve the site’s performance and quicken future site updates.
  • Accommodations Tool and Exams: A new automated solution that improves reliability and scalability. It also eliminates manual calculations by consolidating data from Wolverine Access, Symplicity, and Ross databases. Exam enhancements include improved functionality for tracking, reporting, and scheduling assessments requested through accommodations.
  • Mindful Performance: New features include a reporting mechanism and the ability for managers to contribute to employees’ journals. These improvements increase engagement, simplify the tool, and support positive workplace outcomes at the Ross School of Business.
  • OMBA Asynchronous Credit update in Course Planning Tool: OMBA courses now accurately record both asynchronous credits (awarded to the faculty member who developed the course materials) and synchronous credits (awarded to the faculty instructor of record). The tool feeds the data directly into HR Teaching Load. This improvement streamlines workflows, eliminates confusion from the previous process, and supports future program expansion.
  •  One-Year Master’s Multi-Program Application: RossIT and partners developed an innovative application that empowers prospective students to apply to several one-year programs through a single, streamlined process. This new approach unlocks greater flexibility and opportunity for our applicants, making the process more user-friendly and efficient.
  • Consolidated Full-time MBA Admissions Processes in Salesforce: Partnered to seamlessly transition the Full-time MBA admissions processes into Salesforce. This work will result in valuable insights to refine and enhance the process for the upcoming application cycle.
  • Adapted BBA Freshmen Admissions Process: Through extensive collaboration with the BBA Admissions team, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and our Salesforce specialists, we adapted our complex BBA admissions process to accommodate first-year students applying directly to Ross for the first time. This milestone initiative significantly evolves how we attract and engage future business leaders.

These innovations are only possible through our strong partnership and collaboration with our community. We are here to assist, support, and innovate with you.  RossIT remains committed to fostering an inclusive and responsive environment where technology empowers every community member to reach their full potential.

On behalf of RossIT, I wish you a successful, engaging, and inspiring academic year. Let’s make this year exceptional!

Go Blue!
