Faculty – Summer 2025 Things to Know

Faculty, here’s some helpful information for you to use during the semester:

  • Traveling with Technology: Ross IT wants to ensure that you and your devices remain secure when traveling, whether for university business or personal reasons.
  • New Locations for Ross IT: Due to ongoing renovations in Executive Residence and Wyly Hall, we’ve temporarily moved.
  • Great Lakes HPC Cluster for Classroom Use: The Great Lakes HPC Cluster provides $100.00 per student per semester for use with HPC, GPU, Jupyter, and RStudio resources.
  • U-M AI: Learn more about the AI services available at U-M
  • Ditto: the new screen-sharing app for students to use in B1570, B2560, and B3560. We encourage students to download the app to their devices before class.
  • Bitlocker: We are rolling out Bitlocker to all Ross PCs and laptops. Bitlocker encrypts the files on your Windows PC to protect them from unauthorized disclosure. Even if your device is lost or stolen, criminals cannot access the content on your device.
  • U-M’s new Research Data Stewardship Policy went into effect on January 1, 2024. The policy guides the management, retention, ownership, and sharing of research data, with extensive input from a wide range of faculty, staff, and subject matter experts. You can find more information on the Research Data Stewardship page.
  • The Academic Technology@Michigan site serves as a collection of information on academic technology for all teaching modalities at the University of Michigan for both new and seasoned instructors.
